St Patrick’s Day Green Trifle

I love trying out new desserts.  We had a potuck at work for St. Patrick’s day, and I needed a green dessert.  Well I remembered a fun dessert that a lady I used to work with used to make, but couldn’t quite remember the recipe, so I’ve re-created it.

St. Patrick’s Day Trifle Recipe

3 pckg Pistachio Pudding Mix
5 C. Milk
1.5 pckg Oreos plus a few for garnishing
2 8 oz. pckg Cream Cheese
12 oz. container Cool Whip
1 C. Powdered Sugar

1. Let cream cheese warm up to room temperature.

2. Mix pudding mix with the milk and set aside.

3. Crush all Oreos in a bowl.  They don’t need to be finely crushed, you want chunks.  I did them by hand.

4. Mix Cream cheese and powered sugar with a hand mixer until smooth.  Add half the cool whip and whip.

5. Put the trifle layers together.  Half the oreos in the bottom.  Then half the cream cheese mixture.  Then half the pudding.  Repeat the layers.  Top with the rest of the cool whip and garnish with leftover oreos.
